Join us in an effort to bring back native plants and wildlife to a much-loved wetland that spans several local communities and the Blue Hills Reservation & Neponset River Reservation! View project pictures.

Volunteer Opportunities: 

Monitoring Study Plots. In late June, help monitor wetland study plots. Contact Carly at 781-575-0354 x303 or rocklen@neponset.org.

Release Beetles. In mid-July and late-July, help release beetles at wetland sites. Also, let us know if you can help transport equipment -- e.g., do you have an auto with lots of room (trucks, stationwagons, miniwagons, SUVs)? Contact Carly at 781-575-0354 x303 or rocklen@neponset.org.

Monitor Study Plots. Help us monitor wetland study plots in late August or early September. Contact Carly at 781-575-0354 x303 or rocklen@neponset.org.

Gather Plant Pots in the Field. In October or November, help us retrieve plant pots from wetland beetle release sites. Contact Carly at 781-575-0354 x303 or rocklen@neponset.org.

Volunteer Opportunities Completed for 2010:

Be a Beetle-Rancher.  Help raise beetles! This spring and early summer activity is perfect for people of all ages, individuals, families, groups, classrooms, clubs, Scouts, and more. Learn more.

Harvest Rootballs. On April 10 & 11, help harvest and pot Purple loosestrife rootballs out in the field!

Donate a Kiddie Pool. We seek donations of hard-plastic kiddie pools of 4 to 6 feet in diameter. 'Got one you'd like to donate?

Sew Nets. Participate in sewing bees, yet to be scheduled, April through May, to repair and sew nets with sewing machines.

Divide Beetles. Help divide beetles into small containers.  

Harvest Wild Beetles. Help collect Galerucella beetles at a selected wetland.
