Ian
Cooke, Executive Director
In
his tenure as Executive Director, Ian has developed
NepRWA’s programs, expanded its capabilities and
fostered development of the watershed approach in
Massachusetts. Ian is a former director of the
Massachusetts Watershed Coalition. He has a BS in
Environmental Conservation from the University of New
Hampshire.

Nancy
Fyler, Water Conservation Coordinator
Nancy
works on water conservation partnerships between
watershed municipalities and NepRWA. She
has a BFA in Communication Design from Parson's School
of Design and a degree in art education from the
Massachusetts College of Art. Nancy is active in local politics and is currently
serving on the Town of Sharon Economic Development
Committee. She is a cultural arts program coordinator
in the Sharon Public Schools and an executive board member of
the PTO.

Bill Guenther,
Environmental Scientist
Bill
manages the technical aspects of NepRWA programs that
center on water quality. His academic background encompasses aquatic
ecology in addition to fisheries and their role in the
overall health of ecosystems. Bill earned his
Masters degree in Biology at State University of New
York Brockport, and his thesis work focused on algal
toxins and their fate in freshwater environments. He
has a BS in Environmental Science with a concentration
in Aquatic Ecology and an MS in Biology from SUNY College at Brockport. An
avid angler, Bill has been enjoying a variety of local
fishing
opportunities.

Kristina
LaFrance,
Administrative Assistant
Kristina
manages NepRWA's Membership Program and bookkeeping.
She earned a BS in Finance and a minor in Mathematics from Bridgewater State College. Kristina
has over 10 years of financial experience, working in
the commercial loan department at FleetBoston and the
accounting department at Blue Cross Blue Shield of
Massachusetts. Kristina is pleased to bring both her work and
personal experience to NepRWA. As a person who enjoys
the beauty of the outdoors and all that it has to
offer, Kristina welcomes the opportunity to work for
such a worthy cause.

Alexa
McKenzie, Summer 2010 Intern
In
addition to supporting the NepRWA staff, Alexa is
working to organize outreach events like the Salt
Marsh Clean-up Day in July. Alexa is entering her
third year at the University of Massachusetts,
Amherst, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in biology
with a focus on plants. She has been a volunteer at
the Boston Museum of Science for many years, educating
visitors about science and nature in the Children’s
Discovery Center and the Butterfly Garden. A Milton
resident, she enjoys walking her dog, spotting birds,
and watching the wildflowers change seasons at
Cunningham Park and along the Blue Hills trails.

Steve
Pearlman, Advocacy
Director
Steve
analyzes the causes of water quality and quantity
problems and develops strategies for improving current
conditions. He works closely with local governments and environmental
organizations to implement these strategies in Watershed communities. Steve has
17 years of regulatory and management experience with
the Massachusetts Department of Environmental
Protection, as well as extensive work experience in
policy research, lobbying, press relations,
coalition-building and environmental advocacy. Steve
is a graduate of Columbia School of Law and a member
of the Massachusetts Bar.

Carly
Rocklen, Outreach
Director & Restoration Manager
Carly
manages NepRWA's
wetland restoration
program and
produces outreach materials and events.
She has a MS in Natural Resources and Environment from
the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor and BA's in Music
and in Environmental Science from Tufts University.
Carly has experience in
environmental education, arts program development, environmental planning, public
outreach and biological fieldwork. You may catch Carly
playing music around Boston.
