Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) Strategic Plan
NepRWA is on a journey to ensure our mission fully serves everyone within the Watershed.
January 22, 2025
We have just completed a new Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) Strategic Plan for the organization that outlines our high-level goals to address systemic barriers, implement equitable policies, and foster open dialogue among Staff, Board, and other stakeholders.
In 2022, we started a partnership with the Justice Belongs Institute to conduct a baseline assessment, provide training for our Board and Staff, and begin the creation of our new DEIB Strategy and an associated internal action plan. The Strategic Plan is designed as a living document, evolving alongside the growth and development of our Board and Staff. By fostering open dialogue and maintaining a strong commitment to these efforts, we aim to continuously learn, adapt, and improve.
Get Involved!
Additionally, and most importantly, we believe this work cannot succeed without input from the community. We invite you to join us in this effort by sharing your thoughts, ideas, and suggestions on how NepRWA can strengthen its DEIB practices and ensure the benefits of a healthy, accessible, and resilient Watershed are enjoyed in all of our communities and neighborhoods.
In the coming months, we will also be formalizing a volunteer “DEIB Council” to help monitor and support our ongoing efforts. If you think you might be interested in being considered for a role on the Council, please let us know by reaching out to NepRWA Community Engagement Strategist, Karen Groce-Horan.
