Neponset River Earth Day Cleanup

April 20 @ 9:00 am 12:00 pm

Celebrate Earth Day by joining with NepRWA staff and volunteers to clean up waterways and parks across the Neponset Watershed.

  • We provide everything you need for the cleanup: trash bags, trash tongs, rakes, shovels, gloves, waders, hand sanitizer, and bug spray.
  • We recommend that you bring hats, sunscreen, water, snacks — and any favorite work gloves (We will also have gloves on-site for you.)
  • Long pants and closed-toed shoes are recommended for terrain and poison ivy.

We need all kinds of volunteers! Yes, we need people to lift heavy things, but we also need to lift light things, check people in, catalog the treasures we find, take photos. There’s a job for everyone.

Sign up with your friends, family, scout group, green team, and co-workers! Children under the age of 15 need to be accompanied by an adult.

Locations include:

  • Tenean Beach, Dorchester
  • Granite Ave., Dorchester
  • Squantum Point, Quincy
  • Edgewater Drive, Mattapan
  • Neponset Greenway Canopy Walk, Mattapan
  • Riverside Ave., Milton
  • Blake Estates Urban Wild, Hyde Park
  • West Street Urban Wild, Hyde Park
  • Canton Park & Ride
  • Bernie Cooper & Elliot Park, Norwood
  • Walpole Town Forest

To nominate a cleanup location, or for any questions, reach out to Benni Marques, our Environmental Science Fellow, at marques@neponset.org

If you’re unable to volunteer but still wish to help, consider making a donation to the cleanup effort.
