Greenway Trail Mural Restoration Continues Along the Neponset River Greenway
The murals along the Neponset River Greenway Trail have become a vibrant and beloved part of the trail, adding color, creativity, and a strong sense of community to this popular public space.
For walkers, cyclists, runners, and neighbors, the murals help transform the Greenway into more than just a trail—they tell stories, celebrate local culture, and create a more welcoming and inspiring experience.
Like all outdoor public art, however, these murals face constant exposure to sun, rain, temperature changes, and general wear over time.
Ongoing restoration and maintenance are essential to preserving their beauty and ensuring they continue to brighten the Greenway for years to come.
Volunteer to Help Restore the Murals!
The Neponset River Greenway Council and NepRWA invite community members to join upcoming mural restoration sessions and help preserve these important artworks.
No experience is needed—everyone is welcome. Volunteers will work alongside Dorchester-based artist Vincent Crotty, who will provide guidance and support throughout the restoration process.
Volunteers may assist with tasks such as cleaning surfaces, touch-up painting, and other restoration work. All materials, instructions, and snacks will be provided.
Registration is required for planning purposes. To sign up or learn more, please contact Volunteer Coordinator Suzanne Hinton at hinton@neponset.org.
