Guided Nature Walks Along the Neponset River
From Source to Sea: A Guided Nature Walk Series
Explore the Neponset River Watershed on a series of three guided walks led by birders and naturalists Eldad Ganin and Al Mollitor.
Each walk visits a different part of the Neponset River—from its forested headwaters in Foxborough to the estuary at Dorchester Bay—with opportunities to observe birds, plants, and other wildlife along the way.
Join us for one walk or all three. Registration is required for each separate walk. Space is limited.
- Walk 1: Neponset Reservoir/Lane Homestead, Foxborough | Sunday, May 31 | 8–10 AM
- Walk 2: Signal Hill, Canton | Sunday, July 12 | 8–10 AM
- Walk 3: Squantum Point Park, Quincy | Sunday, September 20 | 8–10 AM

Your Guides
Eldad Ganin – An experienced birder since 2006, Eldad has recorded sightings across Massachusetts and beyond using eBird. A regular participant in Mass Audubon walks, he brings a wealth of knowledge about resident and migratory birds in the region and loves sharing his expertise with fellow nature enthusiasts.
Al Mollitor – A lifelong lover of the outdoors, Al grew up exploring the forests of Long Island before it became suburbanized. He studied forest biology and soils in college, and though his forestry career ended in the mid-80s, he remains an avid hiker, casual birdwatcher, tree identifier, and creator of bird nesting boxes. Al enjoys hiking trails throughout the Neponset River watershed and maintaining his own small woodlot in north-central Massachusetts.
