Neponset Day 2024: What a Day!

Thanks to the vendors, exhibitors, and attendees who joined us on this special day!

After looking questionable all week, the weather turned out to be beautiful for Neponset Day 2024 on August 3!

Hundreds of people turned out to enjoy the festivities, including paddling with our friends from Paddle Boston; live music from the Branches Steel Orchestra and the Neponset River Ramblers; tunes from a Trike Called Funk and DJ Mez; and delicious food from the Chicken and Rice Guys.

The free popcorn flowed at the NepRWA table as kids lined up to win at the prize wheel by answering questions about the Neponset River. The splash pad was hopping all day and the new “dunk chair” was a hit in the warm weather.

Attendees learned about rowing, fly fishing, biology, woodworking, getting outside, biking, fire safety, accessible outdoor sports for people of all abilities, keeping healthy, and where their water comes from!

Exhibitors included UMass Boston, Greater Boston Trout Unlimited, Bikes Not Bombs, Waypoint Adventures, the Makers Hive, Public Lands, X-Cel Education, Power Corps Boston, the Neponset Greenway Council, Milton Community Rowing, the Boston Water and Sewer Commission, Boston Fire Department, the Boston Public Health Commission, the US Environmental Protection Agency—and of course, the Neponset River Watershed Association.
