Norwood Trails Update: Tiot Trail Construction

November 2025 — The Norwood Trails Advisory Committee recently completed construction of a water crossing on the Vanderbilt Trail. Except for the pending installation of a handrail, the crossing is open for business!

More than 30 committee members and volunteers worked to construct the 47-foot-long wooden crossing over several weeks. NepRWA board member Jerry Hopcroft served as chief design engineer and site manager, and Norwood’s Department of Public Works and Department of Community Development supported the efforts.

This crossing is the first of more than a dozen planned that will form the Tiot Trail, which will circumnavigate the Town of Norwood.
