Preparing our communities for climate change requires many hands. Elected officials face competing priorities with every vote and budget decision. A colleague recently said, “If the community leads, leaders will follow.” If the Community Advisory Groups (CAGs) in the Neponset area are any indication, our communities are in great shape!
Our NepRWA Community Advisory Groups (CAGs) were busy last week, demonstrating the power of collaboration and community action.
These meetings highlight the importance of community-driven climate resilience efforts. By coming together, sharing knowledge, and planning for the future, we’re making meaningful strides to prepare for the challenges of climate change. Together, we can lead the way toward a more resilient Neponset area!

Resilient Neponset CAG
This group held its 5th meeting, featuring two impressive presentations on climate adaptation strategies.
Malden Riverworks and Braintree Public Works shared insights into their initiatives, providing valuable ideas for supporting and advocating for climate action in local towns. The discussion was engaging and inspiring.
Stoughton Resident CAG
NepRWA also hosted the kickoff meeting for a new Resident CAG in Stoughton. This group will help guide and inform Stoughton’s climate resilience efforts.
Phase 2 of this initiative, running through mid-2026, is now underway.
The project team includes NepRWA staff, Stoughton engineers and planners, and Kleinfelder Engineering.
