Vote YES on Question 6: Nature for All
NepRWA is dedicated to cleaning up and protecting the Neponset River and surrounding watershed lands. That’s why we’ve joined the Nature for Massachusetts Coalition and urge you to vote YES on Question 6 on the Massachusetts Ballot on November 3, 2026. Watch the video to learn more.
Question 6 would dedicate money the state is already taking in through an existing sales tax on sporting goods like camping gear, golf clubs, and fishing equipment, to protect water, open space, and family farms.
Doing so prioritizes clean drinking water, wildlife habitat, recreation, and public health without adding or raising taxes. Moreover, a study by the Trust for Public Land concluded that for every $1 invested in land conservation, $4 in economic value is realized.
Climate change is already affecting our region with more frequent flooding, severe drought, and increased heat waves. In order to make our communities more resilient to these impacts, we must safeguard our water resources, restore wetlands to slow flooding, and protect open space to reduce urban heat island effects.
Passage of Question 6 would mean about $100 million annually to protect public health and safeguard precious resources throughout the state. Everyone deserves clean water and green spaces. Your vote could help make those things a reality for generations to come.
