Even though it’s winter and we’ve seen normal to above-normal rainfall in December, water conservation remains essential.

Recent updates from MA Energy and Environmental Affairs (EEA) Secretary have shown improvements in drought conditions across Massachusetts.
In Dec., most of the state received 3-6 inches of rain and snow; the Southeast Region received 6-8 inches. The rainfall is helping us slowly move toward more normal conditions after last year’s severe drought and fire risks.
However, the Neponset Watershed is still at Level 1 – Mild Drought, and water conservation remains important.
